The Concept
Through the work that we have done with some of the most prestigious art colleges
and universities we firmly believe that there is a positive market for a self-contained
product for the younger educational user. The idea was to design a simple yet
effective unit that would allow schools and colleges to offer a specialist
facility that whilst creatively complimenting the national curriculum is also
a vocational tool and a potential fun money earner for the purchasing
establishment.
It was important to us that the unit and it’s accompanying supplies could
be used by educational professionals with no previous screenprinting knowledge
as well as those with some specialist background. Most of all it was imperative
that we design a facility that was compact and mobile to easily fit within existing
art departments, could be instantly used from the moment of delivery, was robustly
built and will allow the purchaser to maintain an enjoyable, accessible and environmentally
healthy place of learning.
The Application
Screenprinting is one of the most versatile and popular known methods of
print. What makes screen printing so popular is the ability to lay down
a wide range of coatings on a vast range of substrates. Everywhere you
look are examples of the process and many places that are hidden.
Applications include: textiles, posters and point of sale displays, gaskets,
watch dials, key pads, transfers, electronic circuits, car windscreens,
road signs, architectural glass, tableware, nameplates, labels, ceramic
tiles, vehicle instrumentation, mouse mats, office equipment, membrane
switches, estate agents boards, fuel cells, electronic circuitry, playing
cards, scratch cards, heating elements, baseball bats, cricket bats, tennis
rackets, skis clocks, fine art limited editions, laptops, plasma screen
televisions.
These are just a selection. The KPX Screenprint Station and the inks supplied
with it enable you to print both textiles and paper/board so not only can
it be used as a tool to encourage and support children and young adults’ creativity
but you can also have fun printing the school logo on any number of substrates.
